ACCESS / Getting started

Plans, subscriptions, and routes

VPN54 keeps account, billing, and subscription management in the user panel, while connections are handled in the client. No email address is required; create an account with a username and password. Choose a plan, get your subscription in the panel, then import it on the device you use. There’s no need to enter route settings one by one.

1

Choose a plan

Consider how regularly you’ll use the service, then choose a monthly plan or a data package. Monthly plans suit ongoing use; data packages suit occasional access. Check prices and data allowances in the panel. Pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT.

Import your subscription

Sign in to the user panel to get a client and subscription link. In the client, find the subscription import option and follow the prompts. Your subscription link contains account credentials, so don’t share it publicly or post it in public forums.

Choose a route

Start with a location supported by the service you want to use. After connecting, open a familiar website to check access. If something goes wrong, save the error details and try another route in the same location. Avoid changing the protocol, mode, and system settings all at once.

For your first setup, follow the steps in Quick Start. The guide covers getting a client, importing a subscription, and checking the connection. Protocol differences are covered in the technical reference, so setup stays focused on the essentials.

Choosing a cross-border connection

Start with how you’ll use the service, then consider routes and billing. This guide covers connection stability, account credentials, multiple devices, AI tools, streaming, and refunds. Select a heading to view its details; your current selection can be saved in the page URL.

Judge route types by your actual experience

Peak-hour performance depends on your local network, the connection path, and the destination service—not just the distance to a location. VPN54 offers IEPL dedicated, relayed, and direct routes. To compare them, try the services you use at your usual hours and check page loads, file transfers, and connection stability across different paths in the same location. A successful connection once doesn’t prove consistent performance, and protocol names alone don’t predict speed. Keep routes that work well as alternatives; that’s often easier than repeatedly changing low-level client settings.

IEPL

Dedicated route; choose based on your actual connection experience.

RELAY

Relayed route; consider the full connection path, not just one leg.

DIRECT

Direct route; performance depends on your local network’s connection.

Read the protocol and route guide ›

Supported protocols include Shadowsocks, VMess, Trojan, VLESS, Hysteria2, and TUIC. A protocol determines how a client establishes and maintains a connection; route topology determines the path your traffic takes. They’re not interchangeable. Check client compatibility and the subscription options actually available in the panel to see which protocols your device can use.

Locations, paths, and practical use

VPN54 covers 100+ countries across 180+ routes. The table below shows examples of popular locations and route types; it isn’t a live status report or a complete list of available options. We don’t infer cities where none are specified. For exact exit locations, protocols, and available routes, check the client list after signing in.

Choose the location first, then the route

If a website requires access from a particular location, narrow down the exit locations first, then compare routes there. For everyday browsing, start with a location you use regularly and check page loading and connection stability. A nearby location doesn’t guarantee a shorter end-to-end path, and a route name alone can’t tell you whether the destination service supports your account.

Test during your usual hours

Local network conditions can vary between work hours and evenings. Test with the tasks you actually need: check file transfers and session stability for work, continuous playback for video, and login and response times for AI tools. After switching routes, reload the service and, if needed, confirm the exit location. Save useful error details for troubleshooting.

CLIENTS / Platform setup

Download clients and import subscriptions

Sign in to the user panel to get your subscription. Clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux are available after signing in; the iOS download link requires an active plan. All platform links lead to the panel, where the same account handles client access and subscription management. Direct installer downloads aren’t provided on this page.

Windows

Sign in to get a client, then import your subscription and check connection mode and system proxy settings.

Get the client

macOS

Sign in to get a client, then grant network permissions as prompted by your system.

Get the client

Android

Sign in to get a client, import your subscription, and confirm system permission for the connection.

Get the client

iOS

If you have an active plan, get the download link in the panel, then import your subscription.

Get the client

Linux

Sign in to get a client, then check network settings for your desktop environment.

Get the client

Check the imported subscription

Once the subscription update is complete, you should see available routes in the client. If the list is empty, first check your plan status and confirm the subscription imported in full. Then look for any format or network errors reported by the client. Don’t paste your subscription link into public testing sites. If you need help, describe the issue in a user-panel ticket and hide your credentials before submitting.

System permissions and connection mode

Your first connection may require system permission. Read the client prompts and make sure the permission request is for the client you just installed. If your browser works but another app doesn’t, check whether that app uses the current connection mode. For global proxy and rule-based routing, see the guide for your platform; you don’t need to change every advanced option when first getting started.

BILLING / Plan preview

Choose a data allowance based on usage

Monthly plans come with different data allowances, which reset on your activation date. Consider how often you use the service and how much data you need before choosing a tier. Web work, continuous video, and large file transfers use different amounts; using more devices doesn’t automatically mean you need a higher tier. All plans support unlimited devices and include 7-day refunds.

60GB monthly plan

For people who mainly browse the web and do light office work, and want to get a sense of their usage first. Keep an eye on your remaining data and adjust if needed.

250GB monthly plan

¥18 /month

For people who need more than everyday office work, such as watching videos and downloading files. Choose based on actual usage; a larger data allowance doesn’t mean faster speeds.

  • 250GB per month
  • Data resets monthly on your activation date
  • Unlimited devices
  • 7-day money-back guarantee

500GB monthly plan

¥28 /month

For frequent use, video streaming, and file transfers. Check your current usage before choosing; more devices alone aren’t a reason to increase your budget.

Data packages: valid until used, never expire

  • ¥158 / 300GB
  • ¥358 / 1000GB
  • ¥658 / 3000GB

If you only need access while traveling, for temporary projects, or during specific periods of work, a data package lets you avoid a fixed monthly allowance. The difference from a monthly plan is how long the data remains valid—not getting a longer term for the same price. Compare your total budget and usage frequency before choosing.

If you upgrade a monthly plan partway through, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Check the change shown in the panel before proceeding; don’t estimate based on the end of the calendar month. Pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. For order or billing questions, keep your order details in the user panel and submit a support ticket.

NOTES / Practical guides

Client setup and use-case guides

Our articles cover everything from installation permissions and subscription imports to checking connections in specific apps. Read setup instructions separately from service capabilities: client settings establish the connection, while the destination website determines its own location rules and account access.
