Subscription management, connection troubleshooting and billing.

Find answers by the step where you’re having trouble. If your connection isn’t working, check subscription import, the client connection and access from the target app separately. Select a question to expand the answer.

ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Account & subscriptions

What do I need to create an account? What if I forget my login details?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password, then save your credentials in a trusted password manager rather than relying only on browser autofill. Your password is for signing in to the user panel; the subscription link is for importing routes into a client. They serve different purposes. If you forget your login details, first check your saved credentials. If you still have an active session, submit a ticket from the user panel with details about your account and order. Never post your password or full subscription link publicly, and don’t create multiple accounts to look for an existing order.

Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update the server list?

Sign in to the user panel and find your subscription details in the account overview. Copy the subscription link, then open your client’s subscription or configuration manager and choose the option to import from a link. If you’ve already imported the subscription, update the existing entry and confirm that the active configuration uses that subscription. If the server list hasn’t changed, check that the update succeeded, the link is complete and your plan is active. Don’t use the user panel’s web address as a subscription link or edit the access credentials in the link. Updating a subscription does not reset your plan’s data allowance.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch computers or use another device?

VPN54 has no device limit, so you don’t need to switch plans just because you’re using another device. Sign in to the same account on the new device, get a client for that platform and import your subscription. All your devices use the same account plan; adding devices does not create separate data allowances. If the old device still has the subscription, manage access carefully. Before selling or retiring a device, remove its subscription configuration and sign out. After moving to the new device, check its server selection and system proxy settings—not just whether the subscription imported successfully.

Which platforms are supported, and what do I need to download a client?

VPN54 supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Find client downloads in the user panel. After signing in, you can get a client for Windows, macOS, Android or Linux; the iOS download requires an active plan. Downloading a client and getting a usable subscription are separate steps. After installation, sign in to the panel, check your plan status and import the subscription. Choose the download for your device’s operating system; installers for other platforms are not universal. If your system asks for network extension or connection permissions, verify the prompt’s source and follow the client’s instructions before testing the connection.

CONNECTION / DIAGNOSTICS

Connections & troubleshooting

What should I check if subscription import fails or reports a format error?

Go back to the user panel and copy the subscription link again. Make sure it doesn’t include extra spaces, line breaks or punctuation added by a messaging app. In the client, use Import from link or Add subscription—not a server address field for an individual route. Then check that your plan is active, your current network can reach the panel and the client supports the subscription format. If the link has been reset, replace the old configuration with the new link. If import still fails, note the exact error, device operating system and steps you took, then submit a ticket. Before sharing a screenshot, hide the full link and its access credentials so support can investigate without exposing your account.

The client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. How can I troubleshoot?

A connected status only means the client established a connection; it doesn’t mean every app’s traffic is using that route. First make sure your local network can reach common websites, then check the active subscription, selected route and proxy mode in the client. Try different websites in a browser to tell whether nothing loads or only one site is affected. Next, check for conflicts between the system proxy, network extension permissions and other network tools. Change one setting at a time and test again so you can identify the cause. If only one site is affected, try an exit region and check the site’s account or regional requirements.

Why does a website work in my browser but not in a particular app?

Apps handle network connections in different ways. Some use the system proxy, others have their own connection settings, and routing rules may send some traffic directly. Check whether the app has its own proxy option, then review the client’s rule-matching logs. If supported, temporarily switch to global proxy or system tunnel mode as described in the client’s instructions to compare results. System tunnel mode usually requires permission; turning on the option doesn’t mean permission has been granted. If the app works after switching modes, update the rule for that app or domain rather than leaving an unclear setting enabled long-term. In a workplace, follow your organization’s network requirements.

What information should I include in a connection troubleshooting ticket?

Include your device’s operating system, client name, route region and type, proxy mode, and whether the issue affects all websites or a specific app. Add the exact error message, your network environment and the steps you’ve tried, such as updating the subscription, switching routes or restarting the client. If the issue happens only at certain times, describe the pattern to help distinguish local network problems from route congestion. Before sharing screenshots, hide passwords, sensitive payment details and the full subscription link. Check client logs for access credentials before sharing them, too. Submit tickets through the user panel and add test results to the same ticket to keep the troubleshooting context together.

ROUTING / PERFORMANCE

Speed & routes

What should I try first when things slow down or video buffers during peak hours?

Pause downloads, cloud sync and background updates that use bandwidth, then check your Wi-Fi signal and local connection. Next, try other routes in the same app under similar conditions, comparing different paths instead of repeatedly reconnecting to the same exit. Peak-hour congestion can occur on your local connection, an international route or the destination server, so a single test can’t identify every cause. While watching video, temporarily lower the resolution and see whether buffering improves. If websites work but video keeps buffering, also check the streaming platform’s playback status. Note which route, app and situation cause the issue, then submit your comparison results in a ticket.

How should I choose between IEPL, transit and direct routes?

Route types describe how traffic is routed; they aren’t a fixed speed ranking for every situation. A direct route is more straightforward but depends more on the actual routing between your local network and the destination region. Transit routes connect to an exit through an intermediary, so performance depends on each link along the way. IEPL uses dedicated links for the route, but you should still test from your access network to the destination service. Start with the destination region, then compare page response, sustained connections and video playback on your current network. Don’t judge by the route name alone or confuse protocol names with route types; different paths to the same region can perform differently.

How many countries and routes are available, and which region should I choose?

VPN54 covers 100+ countries / 180+ routes. The user panel and the client’s latest server list show the current options. For general browsing, you can start with a nearby region, but geographic distance doesn’t determine the actual network path or speed. For services with regional requirements, check which regions they support and choose an appropriate exit. If an account is sensitive to sign-in location, keep your region relatively consistent to avoid extra verification. If a new route isn’t in the client, update your subscription and check the active configuration rather than assuming coverage has changed based on an old list.

Can I use these routes for streaming and AI tools? Why might they still be unavailable?

Choose a route that meets the target service’s regional requirements, then test access and playback in the app. Streaming catalogs, account regions, content licensing and AI tool availability are determined by each platform; a matching exit region doesn’t guarantee access. If you see an unavailable message, read the platform’s explanation, check your account status and regional requirements, and review how the client routes traffic. Then try another route in the same region. If a website opens but sign-in or playback fails, note which step is affected rather than assuming the route disconnected. Follow the platform’s terms of service, and don’t treat a single test result as a lasting guarantee.

BILLING / REFUNDS

Billing & refunds

How much does a monthly plan cost? When does data reset, and how are upgrades calculated?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Before choosing a tier, estimate your data needs based on video streaming, file transfers and everyday browsing. An unlimited device count does not mean unlimited data. To upgrade, check the target tier and the prorated amount on the confirmation page in the user panel before proceeding. Resets follow your activation date, not the first of the calendar month. If the client shows a different data balance than expected, check your plan details in the panel, then submit screenshots of the relevant order and status.

How much do data packs cost? Do they expire, and how are they different from monthly plans?

Data packs: ¥158/300GB · ¥358/1000GB · ¥658/3000GB. They never expire and remain available until used. The main difference from a monthly plan is how data is handled: monthly-plan data resets on your activation date, while data-pack data remains available until consumed. If you connect occasionally, compare data packs; for regular use, compare monthly plans against your needs rather than looking only at the upfront cost. “Never expire” describes the data pack’s validity; it doesn’t mean unlimited data or an additional allowance every month. If you already have a plan and want to change how you’re billed, read the confirmation page in the panel first. If you’re unsure of your account status, check with support through a ticket before making changes.

Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my plan doesn’t update after payment?

VPN54 supports Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Pay through the plan and order flow in the user panel; don’t use payment details posted in public comments. After paying, check the order status on the order page, then review your plan in the account overview. Closing the browser’s payment page doesn’t necessarily mean the order confirmation process is complete. If your payment service shows that payment went through but the panel hasn’t updated, keep your order number and payment record, then explain the issue in a ticket. Don’t pay repeatedly for the same issue. Hide unrelated account details in payment screenshots. For USDT payments, follow the payment instructions shown on the current order page; don’t reuse details from an older order.

What is the refund policy, and how do I request a refund?

VPN54 offers a 7-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user panel and clearly state that you want a refund in a support ticket. Include the order number and any payment details needed to verify the transaction. If you’re also having connection issues, you can describe the error, but keep the troubleshooting report separate from your refund request. If you want a refund, say so explicitly. The refund policy and Terms of Service contain the full terms; review them before submitting a request. Keep your order and ticket records, and add any follow-up information to the same ticket. Don’t share your password, full subscription link or sensitive payment details publicly. Check the ticket replies for updates on your request.
